it’s a beautiful one, this one. It reminds a bit of the rupa I was given after my ordination although of course mine’s not a standing one. Lovely…

i don’t think i’ve ever seen a standing white tara before – except in meditation! and she’s also moving. altogether very beautiful and unusual.

Do you know where this rupa comes from? Nepal perhaps?
January 16th, 2006 at 7:45 pm
i don’t know. it looks nepalese to me, too. perhaps you could email ashvajit? on his flickr site he says it was photographed ‘in or near the house where I spend most of my time nowadays’.

hi sadara
I emailed Ashavajit about the rupa and he obtained it from one of the shops at the last Order Convention in Wymondham. he thinks the shop obtains his images from nepal and he himself thinks the rupa is Nepalese from origin.

apparently, dhiramati sold the rupa to ashvajit. he bought it in kathmandu.
and it’s a *dancing* tara, he says.
